Distributor is Electronic Software Delivery (ESD). It is the shopping cart for digital goods, such as e-book or MP3. It works with the credit card authorization gateway by WorldPay(TM) and iBill(TM).
Your online shop can offer the free upgrade of your products. By this feature, your customer can subscribe the weekly or monthly published e-books.

Online shop for digital goods
Distributor is Electronic Software Delivery (ESD) by OOP-Research.
It provides the shopping cart for digital goods. To accept the payment by the credit card, it can be integrated with the credit card authorization gateway by:

After the payment by the credit card, the digital goods can be downloaded by the web browser.
Customers and Shoppers
In the subsequent sections, the term customer refers the business who is using Distirbutor to manage the online shop for digital goods, whereas the term shopper refers to an individual who is buying the customer's products. Because you are interested in Distributor for opening the online shop, you are the customer in the subsequent section.
From the point of view of a Shopper
From the point of view of a shopper, Distributor is the simple and clear shopping cart integrated with:
- the mail system
- the credit card authorization gateway
The steps through in the online shop are:
- The shopper can search the intended items by the category or the keyword.
- Each time the shopper selects the item, the license agreement regarding your copyright is shown. And only if s/he accepts it, the selected item will be placed into the shopping cart.
- The contents of the shopping cart is always shown to the shopper. Whenever the new item is placed into the shopping cart, the total amount is re-calculated along with relevant tax.
- The shopper can easily delete the items from the shopping cart. The updated total amount including relevant tax is always shown to the shopper.
- The shopper can also select the free trial (or demo) version into the shopping cart. For example, the shopper can download the e-book title with only the first 2 chapters. Or, the shopper can use the trial version of the software during the evaluation period. The trial version is free, and gives the shopper a chance to determine whether the product is worth paying. The selected trial version is also placed into the shopping cart, but does not affect the total amount and relevant tax.
- After making the payment by the credit card, the shopper can go to download zone. At download zone, the items in the shopping cart is listed, and the shopper can start to download them. As default, the shopper can download the item through FTP by the web browser. But, for case that s/he is behind the fire-wall, s/he can choose the download via HTTP.
- If the customer offers the free upgrade of the products, the shopper can visit download zone again and get the latest version. The unique cart ID and password are sent to the shopper by e-mail, and the shopper can login to download zone using this unique ID and password.
Thus, by Distributor, you can open the easy-to-use online shop on your web site.
